A nod to Robert Longo’s famous jerky silhouettes, the artist captured a series of young people jumping on air. “I see youthful optimism”, he says, creating these poses became a sort of dance, and I think that’s why I wanted to show people having such a good time.
In combination with the latest printing technology, The Picturalist uses 100% archival rag paper and archival inks, to achieve stunning prints in rich, vivid colors. We print on thick, white, premium grade matte papers from worldy renowned suppliers like Hahnemühle, Canson and Legion Papers.
You have the choice of using a mat or not.
Without a mat:
You can frame the artwork you choose without a mat on 2 variations: Without a white border or "full bleed", meaning the frame will slightly overlap the artwork by 1/4 inch.
or "with a white border all around" typically 2 inch thick.
If you choose to have your print with a mat, we offer thick acid free mats featuring a sharp angled edge that highlights the artwork.
With a mat:
Depending on the artwork you choose, consider using the "off-white" mat for antique prints with a black frame.
If you desire a more contemporary look, consider a white frame and a "thick white mat".
We also offer a "black mat" on certain number of specific prints, for a dramatic contrast.
We call this method of framing "floating" for two reasons. First, we attach your art to an acid-free foam core lift, hidden behind the work but mounted to a supporting white mat. We then use a spacer to create a gap between the plexiglass and the surface of your work. The result is a look that keeps your art "floated" in the center of the frame. The foam core lift creates adds a slight shadow around your art and a sense of depth, drawing extra attention and makes it more special.
Our framed prints feature real wood mouldings and UV acrylic glass. Our acrylic glass is more expensive than glass, but we use it because it’s clearer, far more impact resistant, and protects your art against UV rays. Framing-grade acrylic has become a new standard in framing.
Our framed artwork comes ready with a wire to hang on your wall.
At The Picturalist, we check each artwork by hand before it leaves the premises. We then place it in a protective cover inside art-secure packaging. We offer door to door delivery to your home or to your drop-ship location on weekdays and Saturdays.
