ABOUT THE ARTIST
The Otomi people are the brains behind these heavily elaborate pieces of art. You can find dainty earrings, statement necklaces and subtle bracelets in this style, as well as larger pieces of art like heavily adorned jaguar or deer sculptures and beaded sugar skulls. As a pre-Columbian art form, Ottomi art originates in Mayan culture and was first used for documenting daily life. As time progressed, amate paper craft in Mexico developed into a more contemporary way of art, of which, we see today from Octavio Fuentes.
