About our Founder:

ROY CARO COHEN

Roy Caro Cohen has been a leading talent in the design industry for some time. Caro's signature style is a seamless blend of European classicism and American modernism, a fresh, sophisticated approach that encourages homeowners to live with the things they love.

Roy's knowledge and appreciation for the past is fueled by his lifelong interest in furniture and his knack for spotting future design trends. Whether assembling a furniture collection or designing interiors for his clients, Roy reflects a deep respect for tradition that he views with a modern eye.

Background:
Roy grew up in Spain and learned about interior design from a young age in his father's design studio in Madrid. in 1984, he earned a law degree before moving to the U.S. and returning to the world of design under the tutelage of his uncle, a renowned antiques dealer in New York City. In the early 1990s, Caro Cohen moved to Montreal, where he founded Café El Dorado, design award-winning restaurants named one of the ten best cafés in Canada by the New York Times and the Globe and Mail.
In 2004, Roy opened Celadon Collection, a high-end home furnishings store, with Montreal designer Scott Yetman. Roy's own design creations have been repeatedly featured in home furnishings publications such as House & Home, Maison & Demeure, Deco Luxe Design, Decormag and Casual Living.I

n 2015, Caro Cohen sold his interests in the business and founded The Picturalist, an e-commerce art platform that provides services to the home furnishing industry.

The Picturalist has since evolved from projects for interior design clients to a hospitality art line featuring framed custom art prints. Sold in multiple showrooms across the U.S. and Canada, The Picturalist showcases a select range of emerging artists from all backgrounds.
